i don't know why, it's ugly, but so ugly it becomes cute... ?
cuter in white though, i wonder if you could frankenstein a p bass neck on it, i really like the contours of the body, upper horn reminds me of early Wal basses.

I love those Burns basses. My mate has a smaller, short scale Sonic exactly the same as this;
Thing is the tuners were shit, and I don't know if that's common with those basses, but he's had/having a bit of trouble getting replacements for it. I don't know how hard he's looked for them, but it's a great little bass otherwise, t'is tiny!

yeah the neck/headstock looks a bit wonky but it's such a pretty design for the body, like if burns would use the body again but with better necks, decent pickups etc on it...those would sell like crazy i think.

The headstocks on Burns' are just something I've never been able to get on with (sorry Eric!), but otherwise they have some cracking body designs.

Is it a finger rest?
ZenJenga in another thread wrote:the 'thumbrest' changed it's usage.
it was never on the 'wrong side'
the bass players back in the day used there thumbs and had that 'rest' for the remaining fingers.
Do some research.
example, buddy holly's bassist. ( the one that got electrocuted )

I like the white one as well.
I played a Burns guitar once, it was one of the new ones, I wasn't impressed.

Coincidently, i realised not long ago i lever my pinky off the humbucker pup surround on Gibson type guitars. It gives me more stability and helps my picking accuracy.

I know that at various times I have anchored in different places whilst practising, but none of them translated to actual technique whilst playing. I really think that a big part of my sloppy, frustrated, aggressive style of playing comes form getting pretty fast sitting down practising, and not being able to recreate it standing up with a strap.
You should try a full archtop, with no pickups. You have nothing, the strings are three quarters of an inch in the air off the body, it's like a tight rope.

I dont like large acoustics/bodied guitars in general. James archtop was surprisingly comfy and the 335 i got off Proggy is too, ridiculously so, which surprises me after using smaller bodied Fenders for so long.
Theoretically you should have your strap set so that the guitar is in the position it would be if you were sat down, it works too, just looks a bit gay thats all. Joey Ramone would disapprove.
