Any chance of a gutshot of the analog delay? Be interesting to see what chips they've used.

Ah can't read them. Do the two bigguns say PT2399?

Let me crack it open again later on and I'll tell you. Watch this space.

Coolies, sound any good? From what I gather, Artec pedals have the same guts are most lower end (Biyang, Daphon, etc) pedals, they're just in a slightly more booteek enclosure.

There's one of these that actually isn't really analogue, not that that is pertinent, if it sounds good who cares?
They might be Cool Audio BBDs but they seem to have too many pins, they actually look like Microcontrollers/DSPs which would suggest Digital.
Similar gutshot of the Twin Head?

Here's the product page.

Interesting. These use a similar buffered FET switching to boss I think.
It's dual op-amp based, that's what the 4558 is. Could be tubescreamer derivative, but I'd need to trace the board to know that.

Proprietory chip, nothing online about it.
"SA571D

Compander.
"TL062C

Dual op-amp.
I'm fairly sure you don't often do explicit companding in a digital delay so it could be analogue?

Well they advertising the Delay as analog... it's name is "ADL-2 ANALOG DELAY"
From the website:
The very Analog Delay- Echo Effect that players who are tired of the Dry-Taste of Digital Effect have been looking for.
Analog time control ASIC chip (Not a BBD chip)

So it's partially a BOSS clone?
Mike, you sure know allot about this stuff. Good on you.

Lots of people market stuff as analogue and it turns out to have a digital delay line doing the actual delaying, so people have been naughty in the past, not that it matters. All that matters is sound and what you like.
I have a delay pedal I built on my board, it's PT2399 based (the chip Tim mentioned) which is in cheaper digital delays like the Danelectro PB & J and also more expensive stuff like the Skreddy Delay. The pedal I use is the Echo Base which was designed by a really smart bloke on the diystompboxes.com forum, it's basically a digital delay with some filtering on the repeats to give it an analogue character and a lovely modulation section to add warble or do chorusing at low delay times, I love it.
I have an Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man in the big box format which I love but to be honest I've just not thought of kicking the Echo Base off my board since I started using it, digital just works better for me personally, even if it is doing an impression of analogue. So the DMM is under my bed.
Every now and then I pull it out because it's gorgeous sounding, I just hate that it needs it's own power supply and can't be daisy chained.

Nah I just think they use a similar approach to switching, it's cheaper than using a 3PDT and less prone to failure. They have used a DPDT switch in their design, they're more readily available and can be bought for less cost at higher quality.
I only know what I've picked up building and playing these things, I went through loads of delay pedals a few years ago, nothing hugely expensive though - mainly the Boss stuff with some Line 6, EHX etc.

To be honest every thing sounds like shit because my only amp, a Fender Champion 600, has it's stock shitty speaker.
I only bought it a couple of weeks ago, so I am gonna try to return it. Failing that, I am gonna sell it on and put the profit towards another setup.
Not to change to topic but I am just gonna buy another Sovtek I think. I loved my MIG 100 I had in the 90s. I like a big clear sound that doesn't break up all that much (or at all) that I can then just use a distortion pedal and other effects with.
Mike, to be honest I really like the youtube videos of your pedals. I will be putting an order in after I gets my amp

The Sovteks are fantastic (I believe either Bassman or Marshall JCM800) clones, but built to survive nuclear war. If you're wanting a blank canvas to add pedal sounds to that doesn't break up, you could do far worse than either of those amplifiers.
