White Horse amplification from Gear4Music

Does anyone have any knowledge of these?
e.g. 60W "tube" amp (with one 12AX7 in preamp) and 4x8 cab for £174.06; 120W DSP amp with 2 1x12 for £214.91 inc. vat

Clearly White Horse is the Gear 4 Music "own brand". There's a broken 120W stack on eBay right now that might be worth fixing, or even buying for the sake of a couple of 60W 1x12s, but has anyone tried one? G4M are in York (that's in Yorkshire, UK for you USA guys, not Alabama, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, NY, any of the 3 in WI, etc... ).

I wonder if they sell the head on it's own? It has Spring Reverb, that's good. Price is right.

Also, isn't white horse slang for Heroin? Nice.

Certainly "horse" used to be, as in Len Deighton's "Horse under water". I assumed it was a reference to the symbol of the county of Kent, as they're probably made there. Or again, probably not.

Is it just me, or does this not sound too bad?

don't know much about amps but it reminds me of those randall stacks especially the distortion. i guess in some genres it could be a fine amp. i don't like it much though, sounds pretty sterile but if that's your thing (thrashmetal sort of stuff where shreddage has to be tiiiight :P ) then yeah.

i like the logo though, the reference to drugs is funny, but a white horse on your amp is cool too. too bad it's not a unicorn amp.

The stack thing is the same as the Guitar Research I got for free.

It sounds OK - it's a cheap beginner amp sold through gimmick and novelty. I got some decent clean tones, and HILARIOUS metal tones.

Looks cool with the red tolex though.
