the band is called Rainer Maria. song is called the 7 sisters.

the exact effect im looking for comes right at 3 minutes into the song.

please excuse the .wma tag, this song is pretty old....it was ripped about 3 or 4 computers ago back in the day.

it sounds like a digital bomb being dropped from space. but feedback.

"Artificial Light" from that same album is such an amazing song.

I don't know about that sound, it almost sounds like it's some sort of LFO-modulated feedback or something -- definitely cool. It's sort of hanging out in the background throughout the whole song. The six-minute mark has some more of it isolated. I guess maybe it also could just be very skillfully controlled feedback.

If m'lady wasn't asleep upstairs, I'd save all the speculation and just try it here.

it sounds alot like controlled feedback

actually way, when the guy stops at the end you can hear delays trailing off so maybe the pitch shifting is coming from messing with the delay time on a delay that's oscillating or near oscillating?

i'd expect with an expression pedal too.

maybe a phaser/wah is doing the sweep and some delay and natural amp feedback?

im going to upload a live version.

it sounds like he kicks a phaser in reverse at 3 minutes live

at 4:30 he nails it, but its not as digitized or broken up as it is on the album. not as 8 bit sounding

aen or mike need to listen to this shit and try to replicate it in one pedal for me. its fucking sweet sounding

I don't know the real answer but it sounds like pds20/20 to me.

in flanger setting, you step on Hold and the pedal turns into siren. (long pitch-shifting modulation + short sampled delay)

I did this alot in my old band. fun trick.

I don't have this album. what is it? this song ruelz.

I'm not sure how he does it exactly but I could probably get a similar sound with a wah, delay, feedback and tremolo arm.

yup. the internal trim pot can be tweaked to get 18+ secs delay time, really lo-fi bit-crushed tho. one of my favorite Idon'tknowwhatI'mdoingandI'mnotplayingbutI'mcool pedals

Sounds like a fixed wah in toe down position, feedback and most of all a flanger

It's called A Better Version of Me, by Rainer Maria. It's my favorite of their albums.
