need help from the pedal people on here
hey all, here's what i want to do. i want to make a single bypass loop to sit in my amps effects loop. i want to stick my time machine delay in the loop and be able able to remote switch the loop on and off from my pedal board. saves running long cables as send and return to my pedalboard and back. i'm using the amps drive channel more these days and the delay doesn't work as well in the front as it does in the the fx loop.
so could some one give me an idea on how to make one or somewhere that makes one cheaply?

Hmm.. might not be as hard as I thought. The compatible DPDT Relay switch is the hardest thing to find, and making the +12V on the board.

could i make a normal loop pedal and just wire the stomper on a long lead?

You would need to run 4 connections along the lead to the Stomp Switch, so you would need to use a 4-core wire of some sort, but yes it would work.
Pay particular care to strain relief at each end. Personally I would use DIN sockets and plugs.
You would need fairly heavy duty and noiseless cable to achieve this without your whole sound going to shit though.
Personally I just wouldn't bother. Just deal with the two extra cables in the FX loop. It is the only cost effective solution. Especially given that you change your setup so often I can't see you using this for a long period of time, you'll end up changing your mind again and then you'll have useless expensive thing.

your probably right mike. i can't seem to get a rig that works for all bases for the cover band. when i'm at home, it's easy as i use my DLS and maybe a bit of delay. but in the band, i'm trying to cover heavy rock, indie, pop, mowtown, soul, brit pop etc and just struggle to keep it simple and still get something that covers all bases. don't want to be taking 3-4 drives, 2-3 modulations etc. really thinking of an M9 just for band use.

the drive isn't that bad since i've used the darker input, kicking the DLS into that works great for heavy rock stuff. though it's nowhere near the JCM tones i favour. but as a clean base it's fantastic, so M9 is gonna be the route i'll go. my new band is doing original stuff, so i can kinda play more what i want to, so it'll just me my DLS and maybe the SD-1.Mike wrote:I think with a Drive Pedal, the M9 and an Expression Pedal you'll be done. Loopmaster in the US can probably make you something that will do the job - http://www.loop-master.com/ - depends how quickly you need it though, he quotes a timescale on his website and my looping pedals took 3 weeks longer and he didn't send when he had said he had. They are good quality though and he can make things to order if you have suggested designs.
