Know anything about this guitar? This one is at a local store price is $950. They said it it was made in 1981. Middle pickup is a stacked humbucker. Looks interesting.

that is really cool! It looks like a lot of the stuff guild was putting out around that time.

There's a shredder/guitar teacher in Derry who I think has, like, four of these. He's a ballbag, but I remember talking to him about these, and he reckoned they were the best guitars ever made. I was sceptical. Looks cool, though.

Looks good to me. I like the upturned snout. File under 'future classic'.

It looks like it'd play fantastically. I don't like the look of the front (cherry burst, black pg and zebra pickups all add up to a case of the uglies) but I still want to play one.

I'm not sure if I like the inlays or not.

Normally I'd agree, but somehow I think this gets away with it. I hadn't noticed it was a cherry burst (it'd look a lot better in a cherry stain, or a brown stain) nor had I noticed the neck zebra humbucker. I thought it was a HSS type affair.

It's got three humbuckers the middle one is a stacked HB.

Do you know if the store still has this guitar?

Had one like it in High School - a bit pricey but I'd like to inquire with the store about it. Can you post the name / location of the store?

Thanks much!

From what I heard the bass version should be one of the "better" gibson basses. No idea if it correlates to the guitars also.
I like the look of it, it takes me back to the good ol' days when Gibson still made cool new models. If it only didn't have that
cherry burst.. sigh.

I'd never heard of these things before; it's a really nice design, atypical of Gibson. Not sure I dig the 3- humbucker design, but the general shape is sweet.

I'll have to do some research into the bass version.

I hadn't actually seen this thread before....nor knew of the existence of these guitars.....so thanks for the bump? I doubt the guitar is still for sale though haha

I like it quite a bit...if I found one beat up and cheap enough I might rock it.

He can shred on those things? Oddly enough i've never heard of that model ever. It looks like one of their strange 80's experimental guitars.
EDIT: Andddd it looks like i was right. Produced 1981-84. it would be interesting to hear someone shred on that thing, hell it would be interesting to hear myself shred on that thing.

I like it! It's miles better than anything Gibson's put out in the past few years.
