Blackout Effectors Musket (v2)

Post by lank81 »

Hey Guys,
Does anyone have one of these? It kind of seems like a swiss army muff. Some classic tones, regular muff tones, and some really thick fuzz. I'm definitely thinking about jumping on one of these but I'm wondering if I'd be better off getting something like a fuzzface by Mike and maybe something like an EHX Tone Wicker and getting the real deal. Still, this thing sounds sweet.

I tried out a musket but wasn't too impressed, too many knobs on a fuzz if you ask me. It sounded good but it never quite sounded right no matter how I tweaked the knobs. Maybe it just didn't get along with the rocker 30 I was playing it through, but I'm not a huge fan of most silicon fuzzes. Still, go play one with your amp if at all possible.

I'd personally get a fuzz face and a salty green muff from mike.

Someone makes a bunch of old muff clones, my favourite is a purple triangle muff or something like that. I have it bookmarked on my pc I'll be sure to post it.

Released in 1975, the "Violet" Ram's Head was painted with violet ink and had a different sound than the previous Ram's Head Muffs.
This is a slightly modified and updated version of the Violet Ram's Head."

battery son, they're harmful to mother earth but in fuzz face circuit they'll last years

Yea,
I'm a huge fan of Dan Auerbach's tone and some of Jack White's tone. I love the heavy rockin blues. Dan has so many damn fuzzes - Maestro, Hoof, Bender, etc. I'm just trying to achieve tone like that . Lighter(OD) stuff is my Rt 66 & Keeley modded BD-2. Eventually I'm going to get a Trystie from Mike as well.
