Hey everyone, new guy here. A bit ago I received my first short scale. Its an SX sst 3/4 (its strat style see below pictures) that i got for $63 shipped. This thing is going to be my project guitar. I plan on routing it for mustang style pickups. Well I'll just be routing for the neck pickup. Originally i was planning on shapping the horns down to make it look more like a mustang but those things are up in the air for now. I was hoping to have it almost done by now, except books this semester ended up being a bit pricier than I expected so I blew my project fund. So as for now all design changes are up in the air except the neck pickup routing /edit: and mustang style pickup selectors/. Any suggestions are more than welcome!

heres some pictures (sorry for the phone camera)

are those a 3/4 scale or 24"? Either way I'm sure its fun to play. Whatever you do, keep that finish!

well the rondo site says 3/4 AND 24" so... yeah im not really sure the difference, but I imagine that they put 3/4 to speak to the body size.

i'm not sure if I am going to keep the color (and I bet ill get hammered for this one seeing the pink lust thread) but if i didnt it would be a dark green. refinishing will be decided once routing comes into play.

I would highly recommend it! The neck feels really nice to me. The SX orange neck actually looks good in my opinion, but its easy to take off. The biggest issues are the nut and the tuners (but mainly the nut). The tuners are a little iffy when tuning but keep tune pretty decently, but the nut looks like they just broke off a random piece of plastic and filed in nut slots haha! also the frets are a little rough when bending. not as in affecting the sound, but feels a bit rough when moving, but I think some steel wool would get rid of that easily.

even if the pink ones are out of stock (i think there are only 2 left) i would still highly recommend the other one even if they are about $20 more. Still a bunch of guitar for the price. But for that much money you have to expect some DIY work.
