Strat neck pickup for down-tuned, heavy fuzz

So, I've discovered that the neck position is actually better for drone chording. The stock neck pickup in my MIM strat gets me pretty close to the sound I'm looking for, but there's always room for improvement.

I'm shooting for a frequency response similar to what Sunn O))) gets with their P90s in their Les Pauls. Since I'm using a strat, I'll need a single coil that sounds like a slightly bassier P90, to make up for the fact that strats have less bass than LPs. I like a fuzzier distortion than what they use, so I need something that plays well with a Big Muff. I'm using a Bassman for amplification.

Any recommendations?

If you have an EQ pedal, try it both before and after the fuzz in various settings. I've found an EQ pedal to be a very overlooked piece of gear, and a simple, relatively inexpensive way to tailor one's sound.

Also, good to see another Sunn O))) fan around.

I was actually thinking about just buying an EQ pedal first, but I decided on a new neck pickup instead. I like to minimize what's in the chain. The Muff is my only pedal, but I need to get a reverb, since the bassman doesn't have one built-in. I'm a minimalist.

Not sure about the particular frequency response but a lace sensor red is great for fuzz. Loads of people say it's great in the neck position too.

Think I may have found what I'm looking for.
