I think that's about right. Coronados haven't shot up like other vintage Fenders.
Is it Benecol owns a gorgeous one?

Looks like a genuine sale to me... hmm... I would like !! I reckon a con man would fill you with load of crap rather than point out the basic information like this seller has...
Not sure of the going rate of these but probably about the price it should sell for ?

I eventually would like to pick one up, but it's down on the priority list.

Reason I asked is recent ones have been £400 above this price. It is very nice though

Stewart, and you're correct about the price. That's about right for one.

I finally got my bridge worked out to get better action. Wow, what a difference. I love that thing.

yeah, £700 is about average for that sort of model. mine's a custom colour w/ matching headstock, so i paid a bit more.

there are nice guitars, but who knows how they sound... or how useable they are in a rock live situation. i had a coronado bass, and these things are hollowbodies (not semi) and very prone to terrible feedback.
and i always wondered why fender would chose to round that headstock that way, only on these guitars. weird.

ive heard the sound is abysmal. theres some vid on youtube by some company where they diss them too......
edit: just re-watching that, i think they sound alright. hardly sustain city as they said. beautiful nonetheless.

Those chumps diss anything that's not a 60's Tele or Strat.

tis true, coro's are still VERY affordable, i almost bought a bursted 68 coro is GREAT shape for 900 bucks, not sure why i didn't seeing as how thats about the price range any new "decen"t 12 string.
i'd still like to get my hands one with a trem on it, i once saw an antigua with the rare inline grovers for 1,600.00
thats a great deal for a few reasons.

Lol, tis true, MUST be pre-cbs as well . Theres a whole bunch of these people, i usually blank out what they are saying and just listen to the guitar.
What Pat said about prone to feedback, they are, but that can be a good thing. Listen to Psychocandy for hollow body abuse, you just cant seem to get that brutal feedback on a solid body. The bass response on hollow bodys is great too.

a lot of criticism about coronados comes from people who think they're trying to emulate a 335, so therefore they should sound like one. obviously they don't, they sound more like a gretsch with single coils. or rather, they sound exactly like what they are: hollowbodied 60s fenders.
i used mine for recording on thursday and friday this week, and honestly, the guys in the control room were practically reaching orgasm over the sounds that were coming out of it. yes, it's prone to feedback, but it's all about context with guitars. a lot of people don't get that simple fact.
a niche guitar, perhaps, but i'd rather have something with a bit of character any day.

yeah if i ever come across a nice beater coro for REAL cheap, i'm hitting it. sure is something COMPLETELY different, be it gibson or fender. and that's something good sometimes!
Pat.
this one tempted me for quite a while, but it's now gone: http://www.gbase.com/gear/fender-coronado-ii-1967
on gbase there's about 2 or 3 of these in nice shape for slightly under 1K.
for $400 it'd be a nobrainer... maybe someday...
