Man, I used to lovee Alk3, but I kind of stopped listening to them for no real reason.

Sexy guitar, bad hair, punk rock in a nutshell.

I don't understand his hair cut either. You could tell he was going bald even when he had short shaved hair! He shoulda just stuck with that haircut.

That jag is sexy too, I'm glad to see he's back to playing fenders again too!

fuck the hair, that guitar is cool, im not digging the black guard and chrom pups tho, i would rather see MINT with open coils, or some classic singles in there.

Seam Foam and Surf Green are too of my favorite guitar colors. Plan to use one on my upcoming Mustang project. Shave the hair and go for the Billy Corrigan look.

Oh man my idea of punk rock is a million miles removed from Alkaline Trio.

Yeah, Alk3 is more on the pop punk spectrum, but the sexy guitar bad hair thing is pretty punk rock in my view.

Love all 3, Minor Threat is just in its own little world.

Later Black Flag with Rollins has to be at the top of my fave hardcore bands.

I never really got it on with the Sex Pistols, I find myself more of a Towers of London fan, even tho they are sleazy as shit.

Guess we butter on different sides of the bread man. Like pre-rollins Black Flag is WAY better, Minor Threat on forst EP are one of the PUREST musical recordings ever. Okay sex pistols...bodies is the only song where the anger and indignation is fully realised and this shows in the lyrics and the tempo. But seriously yo toers of london?! Big fucking brother and that? Are you going to say the Manics were punk too?

EDIT: ddue I'm guessing you're a lot younger than me - don't mean to diss yr music. But punk is about honesty whatever the age. Triple edit. that towers song is fucking terrible pastiche. Its like some one photocopying a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of an original copy that was once called 'punk'.

dont get it man but fair enough if you're into it. They just look and sound like a weaker more english version of Motley crue to me

The only reason I listen'd to Towers of London was that it was like a gateway to MUCH MUCH better music. This is back about 4, 5 years ago when they first came out, and all my friends were into like MCR and emo shit. So it was a change, and I liked it. From them, I went on to the Sex Pistols, then the Clash, to Black Flag(rollins), then somehow the Melvins got in the mix, which led me to grunge and the whole 90s alternative rock thing, which I consider 'my' genre. Even I admit that Towers are prob one of the cheeziest, most generic British punk band, but when I started to listen to them, I thought they were great, AT THE TIME. In retrospect, they are pretty stale sounding/boring. Given a choice tho, I'd def say that, depending on my mood, I'd take The Ruts over Towers any day of the week. And I have to agree, weaker, shittier version of Motley Crue indeed.

The thing about Rollins/Flag being my prefrence is that I heard it first, so I automatically showed favoritism to it. I aint shittin on Morris/Flag, but to me, I consider it like 2 different bands. (See: Ozy-Sabbath, RJD-Sabbath).

Cheers

I prefer honesty instead of having people cater to whatever I say. Of course things change, and no one will ALWAYS have the same opinion as you. The interwebz arnt srs biznis after all
