I've seen a few projects knocking around on ye olde internet featuring the neck of a Squier Bronco fitted effortlessly into a Strat or Tele neck pocket. Can this be done without modification?

I'm not too sure but this sounds like a guitar project to me.

why would you want to put a bronco neck on a strat body?

EDIT: it doesn't fit into a tele. i just tried it. bronco neck is curved at the bottom like a strat.

yes and no.
the bronco neck that was used for the thundercats project fit into the jag pocket but it was TIGHT! and i actually had to use a clamp to get it in there.
later on i ended up routing the heal to fit like a jag neck would,(it had fretboard overhang)
my guess is that on the mexi stuff it would work becuz of the square off neck pockets, but it would be a really really tight fit.

Are there pictures of this project somewhere? I would super interested in seeing it if there was.

i should mention that if affixed to a strat body, some of the og screw holes on a bronco neck will be visible, i had to re-shape that neck and fill those holes.
in the second pic you can see that it fit the jag neck pocket, but the curve was not perfect.

I've seen the thundercats Bronc/Jag around, but when I saw it, it had black pup's covers. Modded I'm assuming?

aen first put black covers on, and then later on changed out the pups, the weak jag pups just did not work well for the bass aspect of the instrument.

That thing is baller.

I like how you did the bridge. At first, the fact that is had three pickups didn't even phase.

So I'm going to need to do a little bit of filing in order to get it onto a Strat, or just filling in the original screw holes?

So hang on then... if the Bronco neck fits a strat.. then a strat neck will fit the Bronco? Right? I mean, it would have to be placed further up, and the gap between the neck and the body would have to be filled in, but it would fit? So I could basically make a shortscale stratbass and a strat-scale Mustang? This is sounding like a good idea.
