shortscale neck compatability

Post by borrowedworld »

saw a cheap bronco neck for sale, and it got me wondering what shortscale necks will fit the various bodies. for example, would such a bronco neck be compatible with a jag? is there a difference between the pockets of vintage and reissued shortscales? how about the jagmaster? will a vintage neck fit? i tried to find information in this forum as well as elsewhere on the intraweb to no avail. if this is a re-thread, my apologies.

yes

shouldn't be, but 70s fender neck pockets are often a bit wonky. but they tend to be on the large side, rather than too tight.

depends on the model of jagmaster. i think you should be ok with the japanese vista series, less sure about the chinese ones that use conversion necks.

96-98 jagmasters fit bronco, jaguar, mustang, (pre 1993)duosonic and musicmaster necks.

robroe is fullon right. modern JM is shittae. I liked the 25.5" scale though, but just because I like silver sparkle.

leads me to yet another question, what are the chances of a vintage bronco neck fitting a warmoth mustang body? because i desire one with p-90s and don't have the minerals to rout a body myself.

Tickled me, that did.
As far as scale goes it should fit, but the pocket might be too tight or not a tight fit, or maybe not deep enough (?). I'd email them dude.

what can i say, one of my favorite expressions

yeah i'm thinking i'm going to email them, i need a bastard-stang. people always frown on my not caring about the tone associated with shortscales, for me it's more about the scale, as i am about 5 foot 4 and it's a lot more comfortable than 25.5 for me.
