1970's Kustom K-100 combo amp worth $200?

Post by westtexasred »

I saw a 1970's Kustom K-100 amp at a local store for about $200.It is in good shape except it is missing the handle and back cover. It sound really good. It's a 100 watt solid state amp with 2 10" speaker.Has a really awesome tremolo circuit. The one at the store is black tuck and roll(like CCR's Kustom amps) but otherwise it looks just like the one in the photo below.Think it is worth $200?

The red one in picture below is a K-100. SC = Self Contained

Am slightly surprised to find 80's UK light entertainment mainstay Richard Digance endorsing this product.

I bought it. It works great. The speakers are replacements but it came with the originals speakers also(they need to be re-coned).

Thanks guys! This amp is older than I thought, it was made in 1969. Real wood cabinet! Those aren't the original speakers.

I have the originals but they need to be re-coned. I found an original Kustom handle for it too.

It's vinyl upholstery. Before Bud Ross started Kustom Electronics he bought another company that made upholstery for boats. He had a huge warehouse overstocked with Red,Blue,White and Gold vinyl upholstery that he thought would make a great covering for the amplifiers he had conceived.
