a guy locally is selling a blue comp'stang with a matching headstock that looks quite old. white button tuners. i think i see an F-backplate.
i don't wanna raise too much flags/attention, but i can't see no MADE IN JAPAN stamp on the neck...

were some made in japan, or is it an original? i asked for serial no.
we'll see...
thanks,

Pat.

re-issue matching headstock compstangs are called the MG73

http://www.ikebe-gakki.com/shopping/goo ... 52&id=1701

they come in old lake placid blue, oly white (with blue stripe), capri orange, and CAR

the quickest way to tell is that a real 73 is going to have F TUNARZ with trapazoid white buttons and the MG73 is going to have white ovals.

obviously the mg73 has a black decal and the 73 has a white one....but decals on stock mustangs have been known to change so i wouldn't really put all my marbles on the decal
