I don't believe anyone actually knows to restring the friction tuning head on a banjo. I've been browsing the internet for an hour trying to find it out at the same time as trying to tune mine up - literally nothing on the subject. It's like it's a fucking massive in-joke and they don't exist or something. FUcking impossible bullshit wank SHIT COCK BALLZ

So I managed to do it.
You got to bang and screw it some how. I don't even know how I did it. So anyway, banjo's have been around for fucking ages - isn't it time someone started writing this down?

So it's like a violin?

Not really, it's not a peg and There's a screw involved. And even modern violins have fine tuning systems.
Suprised with the internet being what it is this isn't covered more plainly for thick people like me.

You've got me curious and I kind of want to see how this works, but you've convinced me there's no point trying to look.

Haha, I wish I could tell you.
It was frustration, appying force in every direction and a screwdriver. First time I've actually had all 5 strings on it, learning some SCRUGG ROLLZ. Great fun.
