All the usual ringmod stuff near the start, but listen to some of the sounds about halfway through the demo. Fucking crazy shit.

Ring mods sound cool, and this one is great. But man I would have no idea what to do with this at all.

Anything. It'll make anything sound more interesting in my opinion. New sounds are more inspiring to me than anything else.

I've had 2 ring modulators, the Moogerfooger and the EHX Frequency Modulator, and while they make really cool noises and sound awesome you get bored of them after about 5 minutes and sell them on.

Well if you want to sell me your MF-102, I'll take your boredom off your hands.

Ring mods are cooler with synths than guitars.

Sorry but I did say that i've had 2 ring modulators, indicating that I don't have either of them anymore i'm afraid. I sold the Moogerfooger on ebay for more than it cost me, and I bought it brand new.

To be honest, I found that vid pretty underwhelming.

I thought it was great, and I only got about four minutes in.
Having said that, I'm very willing to accept that this is because I haven't given a great deal of thought as to what ring mods are capable of.

Ah, that much? Hmm.
My EHX shopping list is getting a bit silly. I'm in for a POG2, a MicroSynth and this so far. That's almost £500 of pedal right there.
Still, the capabilities of this pedal are pretty wide really. I'd never given a Ring Mod much thought beyond "that sounds mildly cool for maybe one thirty second solo or something", and the first half of that video demonstration backs that up, but the bits after that are really interesting. The trem sounds and some of the other stuff make this pedal seem pretty worth it, really.

yeah, it is probably not a bad price for what it does, but i don't have £150 to throw around. and like ya say, there are other noisemaker pedals above it,

IDK. a good ring mod generally is kind of pricey. & there aren't really a whole lot available. i really like both the Ring Ting & the Fairfield Circuitry Randy's Revenge: i LOVE the sound & the design of the Randy's Revenge, while the EHX Ring Ting is cheaper & loaded w/ features.

Funnily enough, this pedal and thought process was what eventually lead to me buying the M13. Two expression pedal controllable ring mods ftmfw.

I want a pedal that does that lush pitch shift sound in the middle of the demo, without spending a mint to get it. Point me in a direction shortscale.

Yes. Basically said that in the original post, then went on to describe how this particular pedal manages to avoid that pitfall by simply being quite versatile. I said that in the original post. Watch the video past the halfway mark.

i got a behringer us600
is a copy of the boss pitchshifter
i wanted a whammy and a few people i know went on about them for ages
and then went out and bought them and got bored quickly
so i thought id go for a cheaper option in case i get bored quickly too
but i really love it for the cash i think its brilliant value
i need to sort an expression pedal for it tho
