My Jaguar kinda back to stock, kinda not

So I've mentioned this in a couple of threads already but I recently decided to get my Jag back to looking a bit more stock.
A couple of years ago I stuck some P90s in it, and whilst they sounded amazing, especially in series, part of me wanted to go back to that true single coil sound. Obviously the CIJ pups suck balls and I didn't like the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder too much when I tried that, so I contacted Bareknuckle and got Tim to rewind my CIJ pups to my chosen spec.

I still wanted a really big fat bridge pup that could handle heavy distortion well so I went for a Sinner wind. Bring on the BRUTALZ!!!
I wanted something more vintage sounding for the neck and so I asked for a Mother's Milk wind and my god I could not be happier. The bridge has plenty of bass and sounds big and fat whilst still retaining that true single coil sound. The neck is just pure awesomeness, so articulate, very mellow.

I got a new CIJ guard off the bay and at the same time, I wanted to get a 3-way selector switch in there as I've never got on with switching pups on the fly with the stock ones. The remaining slider switch by the 3-way puts the pickups in or out of phase.
Anyway, without further ado here are some before and after pics...ICEYBOMB:

Wow, I really dig the old p-90 look. That thing looked mint!

The return looks pretty sweet too. I understand the desire for a toggle pickup selector... but I haven't gotten used to seeing them on the switch plate yet :P

I always loved that Jag with the P90s but glad you're happy with it. That Bare Knuckle Sinner pickup interests me.

Stock? Well, stocker.

It sounds and looks great. I'd love a Jag like that, it sounds about ideal, and it sounds like what I'd want from a neck/bridge combo.

Cheers guys, I did like the P90s too but fancied a change.
And yes I got the plate from that French guy.
If anyone asks about replacement Jag pickups from now on I am going to recommend a rewind like this, is cheaper than any of the replacements and just sounds brilliant.

Must be a really charming package with that setup, I can almost hear the angry plink of heavy picking with the bridge pickup of an overwound (non-P90/Strat-sized bobbin) single coiler.

always dig the look of a stock jag. dig the new selector switch though.

i have to say though, i liked it with p90's way more.

Just a quick note on this now I have had a couple of weeks to play with it - and it's still as brilliant.
I haven't played any of my other guitars since getting it back.
The bridge pickup sings under high gain and isn't harsh or ice-picky at all, especially with the tone rolled down to 8 or so.
The neck pup is just wonderful. Soooooooooooo smooth, love it. Maybe even more than my Strat neck pickup and that's saying something.
Euan - you would love this guitar.
Much prefer the 3-way toggle, so all in all I think I'm done with modding my Jag - unless something drastic changes, this is how it's going to stay.

I really tend to like the P90 or humbucker. How does the bridge you used compare to the P90?

Well first off it's much higher output than the P90s, so it drives the amp a lot harder. And it's tighter so can cope with higher gain more easily, by that I mean with more clarity and it doesn't get muddy at any point. It's pretty meaty, but really retains the single coil character.

you know, you are dangeriously close to the kurdtz with this latest mod, add another knob, tape the rythm switch and you are down for the count buddy.
