Anyone else use Fender bullets on their jags or JMs ??

Got given a set of Nickel wound Bullets and so I put them on my 60's jazzmaster recently which hasn't been touched for years... they sound really good, or perhaps the strings that were on it were utter shit after all that time. Can a 60's Jazzmaster possibly sound bad with any brand of strings ?? Anyways...

I read that they're designed specifically for the strat / tele so I bought the ball-end version (150R) on ebay tonight, for my jag this time... and then hear of others still using the Bullets on other types of trems and ignoring that fact... so I just bought another set of the bullets as well.

You reckon there would be significant difference in sound with the alternative contact that's being made ? one gonna function better than the other ?

I know this is probably the worst post ever made but I'm intrigued... and just wondered if anyone out there was using them of their shortscales or offsets. I don't think they're are thought to be that great, but I liked what I heard & I look forward to see how they react with the jag.

yes, me too. I like trying out different strings. it's an often overlooked, really easy way to change your guitar's sound.

it seems insignificant but maybe that extra bit of brass makes a difference. It would be great if someone A - B tested it.

been using bullets on my guitars for years. they're an inexpensive, durable string that i've had no problems with in regards to slippage. they've become harder to find the 11's i usually get as of late, and i'm quite concerned with that. hopefully it's just a supply issue and NOT a matter of them being discontinued.

the ones i get used to be called "medium super bullets", but they're apparently changing the name of their nickel-wound strings. whatevs. 11's for me on all my shortscale guitars.

Was about to mention the new packaging.... however, I do much prefer the old packaging !!

Yep, although I don't use trem a whole lot in my playing. I was first introduced to bullets on an american deluxe fat strat and have been using them on all my guitars since.

Is the G wound in these sets?

I've been using Fender Super 250s on my guitars in the past couple years; they maintain a bright tone and smooth texture much longer than other brands I've tried... but when I got my Jag in January, I switched up to 11s (been using 10s on my standard scales) hoping for a wound G, but it was wire... and I'm using d'Addarios with a wound G now (classically I've not been impressed with d'Addario longevity).

Think I'd dig the Bullet 11s?
