use a wound g?

I don't know for sure, but it could be a number of things. Add some graphite to the nut slot? adjust your saddle a wee bit?

What kind of bridge are you using?

Ugo......

to make it short and less irritating for you and everyone else....

You had a problem with your G string, then said you figured it out. If you were talking to people who are not guitarists, nobody would really care how you fixed your problem....however to start a conversation on a message board full of other guitarists, many with years worth of information and background (some of which tried to give you advice on what might correct the problem), if you resolved it yourself we would like to know how you fixed your own problem. Not only might it be helpful information to others having the same problem, but in general there are also plenty of "wrong" ways to fix problems of any nature. For example if I was talking to a car buff about a sound my car is making.....then I notice that if I hold down my brake pedal or roll up my windows it goes away. If I told the person "don't worry, I took care of it", they would be all like "wtf" because they would not know what to make of how I "fixed it" while not knowing what I did. All the while knowing that I probably need new brakes or it'll only get worse. Does the general response make more sense to you now?

Don't misguide your aggravation on the internet at people trying to help you, it makes you look weak and stupid.

pshaw, it's just noob hate.
g strings are notorious for being outta tune.
in fact, many can't technically ever be in tune.
there's some good advice from this thread, such as graphite on the nut.
therefor, as long as this isn't a right wing teabagger, we should leave off.

I find it funny how some people get irritated by a thread that they didn't need to bother with in the first place. It is quite sad.

i think it's unfunny that you're still riding this wave of uppity n00bism, rather just explaining what kind of wizardry you worked on that pesky G string.

+1 curiosity about the g-string issue

Recently changing to a set with a wound G has made wonders of difference in my G-string tuning stability.

You DO realize that if you figured out the problem, you could have just deleted the thread.
