... which is very audible through the amp. I've had it apart previously and greased things up. But still it creaks.

I know a lot of you change to avri so that is always an option.

Can anyone suggest an easy fix for this one I have ? Ideally without having to take things apart... if poss.

Thinking about it, may well have some relation to my bridge too, which I installed a mute underneath.

cheers
Owen

Loosen the screw that hold the tail piece to the body a bit?

Are you positive its not the nut slots or string tree Owen? And the bridge is definitely rocking with the trem?
If you greased it up (i've never had to do this) i'd be very surprised it's the trem at fault.

that's a usual problem with the cheaper japanese trems, that's why so many people upgrade to the AVRI trems.
sad but true. :(

AVRI don't solve shit IMO, mines noisy to a certain degree. I had a CIJ,it was quiet as a mouse.
