Gibson SB300 - Refinished?

Hey dudes. I need your expertise in trying to determin if this Gibson SB300 that my bass player is looking at has been refined or not.
I seem to recall the headstocks always being matched to the body colour on these. The dude who's trying to sell it swears the colourway is original.

So what do you guys think?

thats the best shot you got? i mean i cant see any detail in the paint. it could be black house paint for all i can tell from that distance

It has just had the matching headstock sanded off.

looks like head stock was sanded, but i dig it that way

the more i look at this, the more i like it. if the headstock has been sanded down, i guess a new decal was applied? looks great, regardless.

too rich for my blood, and i'd have to see that headstock joint before i'd pay that kinda jack anyways.
