Jazzmaster style pickguard for Jaguar?

Post by hugh »

I was wondering if there was a Jazzmaster style pickguard for Jaguars.
I prefer the look of Jazzmasters without the chrome plates and whatnot. It's a purely superficial mod for my Jag I've been thinking about.

email this dude, and tell him what you want. he will make anything from scratch.

the best way to do it is get a nice photo of a jazzmaster pickguard, and then photoshop out the parts you want on it, and send that new shopped photo to him with the description of what you want.

the ammount of guitar parts that this guy sells is ridiculous

Thanks for that.
Does anyone else look at their jag and think that it's look better without the plates? The Jazzmaster looks a lot cleaner IMO.

One that comes to mind is Gavin Rossdales... custom thingy...

I've seen photos else of another similar guitar, don't think it's the same guitar. I'm unable to find those after 30 mins of looking.

I think it'd look quite bare with just the 2 pickups but that may just float your boat.

I agree yes. the shortscale on the jag is great but I think think the jazzmaster is better looking and I like the sound of jazzmaster pickups.

It'd still have the switches and knobs on it, I'm starting to think that it'd be a good look.

Haha, I thought Lars Ulrich was the only cool guy in the band after watching Some Kind of Monster. Everyone else seemed a bit too whiney to be playing in a metal band. I can't imagine Slayer sitting around and talking to a therapist.

It's not a bad idea... not for me, though. For whatever reason, I'm not normally a fan of flashy stuff, I really dig the chrome plates on Jags. With the offset body, the chrome just looks hawt!

Of course, Jazzies look damn slick too... but I do love those plates.

Quite simply, no.
Is one of the things I love most about Jags.

I think it would look pretty awesome.

I've always wanted a shortscale Jazzmaster. Someday, I'll get around to making one from parts.

I think it gives each guitar a unique look. A Jazzmaster with Jaguar plates looks strange and a Jaguar without the metal plates looks too plain. A Jagmaster is similar situation as well.

You could use a Jagmaster with the 24" conversion neck or use a Conversion neck on a Jagmaster.

I made one from a Jagmaster, but mine is 25.5" scale.

I don't like the vibrato system on the Jagmasters.

The only vibrato systems I like are bigsbys and the Jag/Jazzie.

No rhythm circuit or bass cut switches? That pink color is growing on me.

I think it looks awkward if you don't put the switches up there.

It doesn't look as good as I expected. I guess I didn't realize how big the Jazzies pickups actually are. That's a little too much guard for me.
