Loop Pedal

I am thinking of purchasing a Boss RC-20XL twin loop pedal. Any input about the quality or any other good competitors would be appreciated. Thanks

It's meant to be good. I've got the RC-2 with an external tap tempo footswich which I think is great.

<3 my rc-20. i'd really like to try an rc-50 for the simple fact that you can remove multiple overdubs, whereas on the rc20 you can only remove the most recent one you did.

great for when my bassist doesn't show up, and i can just record a few loops, remove one, pick up the bass, and jam with the drummer while controlling the basic loops with mah feet.

the biggest plus is that it's helped my ideas for soloing over my own material, and figuring out where to go next with progressions. great tool for me.

Other than the reverse and the on board extra footswitch I find the rc20 completely pointless. Get an rc2 and make you a footswitch and you have the same thing except the reverse and a few of it's preloaded back tracks

forget about the rc-20, get the Digitech JamMan. 99 save slots instead of 11, an SD card slot so you can save as much time as you need AND take your loops rightto the computer and back them up or load the loops you need for a gig. The new stereo jamman has Sweet footswitching options and all of the killer features. There was a huge pros/cons comparing the jammanand the boss on harmony central but that's probably lost in the 2.0 switch.

How is it for looping without the drum machine? Every demo I've seen on youtube so far has just been crappy jams along to the drum track. And can you use it like the Akai Headrush and ignore the tap tempo function?

I'm pretty interested in a looper pedal you see and this looks like my best option.

Or how is the one on a Line 6 DL4, I've always wanted one and if the looper is good enough theyre a pretty similar price? (DL4 on ebay that is )

Yeah the drum tracks have their own volume so you just turn it to zero if you don't want them and that's that. Likewise if you don't want to use the tap tempo function, then you just don't.

Oh sweet, see I only had like 5 minutes with one and it confused the fuck out of me. Guessing I needed to read the manual. I'm very tempted, well hypothetically, realistically I have no money.

Yh I'm so lazy, I'm more likely to spend a week figuring out what everything does rather than spend 10 minutes reading a manual haha oh well

if you just want do make some loops, and don't need drum tracks and saving loops and tap tempo, buy a memory man with hazarai, great looper and you get an awesome delay has well

Yh i looked at that a little, how long is the loop time on it?

hmm, i think it's 30 seconds, not sure. I was never able to record something longer then what it's capable.

My RC-20XL broke :/ Don't know why or how it happened but when i turn it on everything just flashes. I really miss it, its THE best thing to practice with. It's really fun. The reverse mode was really cool. I'm gonna have to get it fixed....
