I really like them alot. In the order I listened to them:
Elephant stood out the most to me, sounded like Buzzcocks with great pop punkness.
Danger Girl felt a little to long tbh, also put me in mind of early Janes Addiction which isn't a bad thing, just thing it needs to be abridged thats all.
I didn't like the vocal on Coastal Explosion, really atmospheric apart from the vocal. Maybe drop the vocal in the mix a bit.
Pretty Nervy needs to strike a balance between the melody and the rest of it. The verses leave the vocal exposed but in the chorus everything slots together nicely.
There was a lot of energy in the live playing on Elephant and this was missing a little in a couple of the 4 tracks you listed.
Only my opinion on a first listen through though, but I would definitely want to listen to them again and even more in the future.
Hope it helps.

That's awesome thanks a lot.
Unfortunately when you're paying for recording and you have limited time you can't make everything sound exactly as you think it should, particularly when you have 4 band members who all want their bits to sound the loudest. I think that fact that you liked the songs is encouraging I thank you for your honest comments.
It's interesting that you though Elephant stands out the most. It was recorded pretty much live (hence the live tag in brackets) and tacked on to the end of the session as a 'just in case we have studio time left to mix it'. It always goes down well live, but when I listen to the recording all I hear is things slightly out of time - but then it's the spirit and energy of a live take that counts and not note perfect playing.
We're going to be giving copies of these recording out at gigs, if you'd like one give me your address and i'll post you one once the covers are done.
