I might put GFS NYIII's or mini-humbuckers in it and put one of those 3-way toggle + on/off switch jaguar plates on it as a cool tap.

Hotrod, you know I loves you. If I can track any down, I'll pick you up one.

YOU DAT MAN!!!

i assume you know they make these in blue without that horrible tort? instead you get a horrible blue, but no tort, nonetheless.

EDIT: nvm, i don't see them now. carry on.

i fucking hate the rondo site with a passion. i only go there to be turned off.

The LPB ones were straight up hideous. The natural Rickenbacker-shaped VI that comes out in Sept is cool, but I'm not trying to wait months for a finish option I don't really like.

actually dude, on the topic of OFFSETGUITARS (per your sig):

stereordinary has just put up these shitty plates, but says he'll be making moar nice polished ones soon!
stereordinary wrote:I have a limited supply of custom switch plates for sale. I call these "budget" plates because they are much less expensive than the thicker stainless steel plates I like to do. However, I have some stainless steel plates on order as a I type this, so if you want the best possible plate you can get, save your money. But if you're simply looking to get the functionality that only plates like these can offer, and you want to get it as cheap as possible, look no further.

Specs:
0.04" thick lightly brushed aluminum.
2 "Wronski" switch plates available.
9 "Teh Kurdtz" switch plates available.
3 "Bass VI" four-switch plates available.
I can countersink screw holes for you if requested.
At this time I am not polishing the plates.
Plates can be reserved if you want me to polish them after I get the wheel and compound in about a month.
All Plates: $5 plus shipping to wherever you is.

I have a couple of these so-called "shitty plates" and they actually polish up great and look perfect. Awesome bargain, really.

BTW- These plates were made to use up the extra space on a sheet of aluminum that Paul (stereordinary) was making me pickguards and plates from for my custom Teisco TB-64 replica. He's one hell of builder.

I gotta second what joe said....although it's not fugly it definitely doesn't look like $400 worth of guitar....if you end up haeting it you won't get near your money back. If you didn't buy it yet then I would save your coin for now and keep a look out for a danelectro, jaguar, or gretsch electromatic model.

Also this thing is old and not sure if it's your thing but it looks RAD

Also he plans on dropping more money into it.

I don't think it's worth it, IMO.

I think its a good buy. Squier CV Duo-sonics are like $325 at stores. This is a 30 inch scale with a jazzy trem and room for a lot of good upgrades with out having to worry about stock value. You don't always have to buy something expecting to get decent resale value, especially when you're already planning to mod it. Way worth it, in my opinion. That said, I do think Nick offers some real nice alternatives.

HELLCAT, HELLCAT, HELLCAT. If you keep your eyes peeled, you can score a Hellcat VI for less than this Rondo thing. You'll be WAY happier.
