I'm looking to upgrade seeing as I currently use those crappy over the counter ones (tonekillers) you buy from guitar shops for like £1 a pop...

I'm not looking to spend too much money and I was just wondering what you shortscalers use...

Not cheap, but I use George Ls. I used to change my board all the time so they were brilliant as they are very easy to cut to size, no soldering involved. Gave me back my top end when I first got them too.
Really easy to get things looking very neat:

I use George L cables and they're great, however if you're looking for something cheap I have a load of Planet Waves connectors around I can do you a deal on as I no longer use them. Just get in touch.

How much you want them for man?

At the moment I can find 9 cables (18 plugs) of various length and i'm pretty sure I have got a few more somewhere too (but I could be wrong). You can have the lot for £40 + postage, which I think is a reasonable price consider the plugs on the own cost about 5 or 6 quid. If you don't want all of them let me know how many you'd like and the length of cables that would be suitable and we can work something out.

I am in the same boat, looking to upgrade my crap nasty plastic £1 a pop patch cables for something decent. I have decided to go down the George L route. It's going to cost some cash but I think it will be worth it. Spent the last couple of months looking at all the alternatives, Clear Tones look like a good option but I like the fact my local store stocks George L's and I have more control over the exact cable length.

Clear Tones

I personally use Marshall (used with their shop pedalboard displays, bought a load from a stockist), Leem Hotlines and Venom 'Adder' patch leads; they're all cheap and don't kill toooone.

Don't underestimate the power/need for a pedal with a good buffer at the start of your chain if you're experiencing treble loss!

I have some of the cheapy £1 ones as backup just in case though.

Hard to find the Venoms with right angled jacks. Been recommended by a few people just don't seem to be in stock anywhere.

Really? I didn't even specifically look for the right-angled ones when I bought mine, I was just looking for any Venom patch cables. If I could remember the site I bought them from I would tell you, sorry!

anyone know if you can make your own patches with the George L's, or does the kit come with cable? i've got a tweed fender 20' cable that my cats fell in (vampire) love with and i'd like to shorten it into a bunch of cool patch cables instead of trash it.

in simpler form: can you buy just the jacks?
