the adaptor is around 30 euros and then the software comes in 3 versions. Free, LE and Full. I think Full is around 15 euros. Its on pre-order currently but I think it might be worth a punt

that looks great.

Also, if the adapter does not include any caps and shit inside, it would be dead easy to make DIY version

I know this is like a broken record but BUGGER, OLD ITOUCH.
Can't justify the 200+ quid it would cost me to get a newer model with the same capacity.

This thing does look very cool though.

That's easily the coolest app i've seen on the iPhone. If I could afford/justify one, i'd hit it. Wonder if you can pitch shift with the touch screen like a Kaoss Pad.

just checked the input of the iphone and its a bit hot, distorting at loud strumming, so i tend to believe that the irig interface has some electronics invlolved inside in order to lower and handle the input of the guitar

There's impedance matching going on, yes, and it is possible for DIY but not a super simple thing to be honest. It will get the right signal into the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and the latency will be minimal (just like the PC/Mac AmpliTube products). This isn't a 1:1 port of AmpliTube 3 of course, due to platform requirements and such but it does sound really great.

Thanks for the kind words and questions and I really do hope people enjoy this.

Wow, that's impressive. Honestly, my Pocket POD meets all of my portable guitar needs, but, I may get this anyway. I'm always carrying my phone around so it'd be much more convenient...

Jesus, I was just going to ask about the latency lol and here it is straight from the horses mouth!

I'm considering taking the plunge into iphone ownership now.

This pretty much tipped the balance of me getting an iPhone for my next phone in July.

Peter, when is it due for general release and is it only available through the website?
