I when I bought my 1974 strat (used) and it came with this '80 case which is ok but missing one hinge in the back





So today I got this old case which is the same as the one it would have come with in 1974. It's a little roadworn but so is the guitar.

I didnt know you had a strat. Planning to scallop the fretboard for maximum neoclassical shredding?

I have that exact case. were these only for strats or were they just standard cases for whatever?
It came with an early '70's Mustang i bought at a pawn shop.

I think the Mustang case is a different size. Here ia a picture of a '68 Mustang I found on the interweb

the sizes will be different, but the styling's the same. my 72 case doesn't have a lidded compartment, if i remember, but my 76 did.

I think your right, they may just have thrown the guitar in in a random case.
The Mustang does look a bit small in the case.

Looks to me like that's a superstrat case. I think I see floyd rose indentations on the top padding from the previous owner.

I think it is a strat case made around '67-'71. I think most Mustang cases looked like this one below.

Yeah, i know thats a Stang case, i have one of those too that came with the '65 stang.
