This must be very rare a 1966 Fender Telecaster with Shell Pink factory refin done in 1967

Shell pink is one of my favourite guitar colours and that tele looks beautiful...
I have been obsessed with that those thin skin pink jags ever since that one was posted on aens thread...

I agree with you. Rosewood always looks better on a tele to me but there is something about a worn maple neck that you just can't get with an old rosewood guitar.

like it or not, fender is entirely responsible for popularizing maple as a fretboard wood. all fender guitars and basses prior to late 1958 came in maple and maple only. this includes esquires, teles, strats, musicmasters, duo-sonics and p-basses. it probably wouldn't even be considered today as an option as a fretboard wood if it wasn't for fender. it's always been a classic fretboard wood identified with, more so than any other guitar company, fender guitars.
