Fender Japan still piss on Fender US for delivering cool stuff what people want. Fender US is all about delivering safe stuff with no chances taken.
While I normally like it no inlays on the jazzblaster seems a bit odd. It doesn't suit the black/red colour combo and bagillion pickguard screws.

That isn't even close to Maui Blue. It's more like Cobalt or any number of other colours they've done. Actually it's pretty much Old Lake Placid Blue that Fender Japan already does. They've made the headstock darker than the rest of the neck which is a nice touch for a 70s RI but the whole neck is too pale to pull it off.

That's pretty close to the Desert Sunset that was previously only available on the Bonnie Ratt sig model.

I’m sorry, but there are some rank guitars coming out of Fender Japan at the moment.
Those Telecaster scratch-plates… it’s like someone guessed the contours.
