So my SD SJM2n & SJM3b arrived last week, armed with a soldering iron I set about wiring them in.
All good & they sound great however the lead circuit appears bypassed, it works when i switch to it although the vol & tone controls don't ..... Hmmm

Thing is there are two schematics;

Notice the changes on the lead/rhythm wiring

Have tried both but no change, any ideas before i take it to a tech?

You can bring it round mine if you want a second opinion before taking it to a tech.

I'd try copying the original schematic. But glancing at the two they look the same, i dunno. Have you loosened an existing wire whilst connecting the new ones or maybe missed a ground connection?

*Edit* Re-check the rhythm switch, you must have got two mixed up*

Fran, I have wired it up according to each schematic but same out come. I'm just wondering if when put it back together one of the wire has got trapped/crushed & snapped in its sleeve? Perhaps this could be why?

Sometimes a wire or terminal can be touching the shielding paint in the cavity. I had a guitar come to me for repair and i could'nt spot anything wrong with it, until i noticed a pot had been loose and turned just enough for the connection to touch the paint.
Mustangs are prone to it because them switches are so close to the cavity wall in such a confined space.
