Blue box is back on the board, as well as a dyna comp. Bass overdrive and tuner per status quo... but whats that other boss box? Noise gate?

Such a tremendous sound from such a simple setup... I have like 15 pedals on my board.

Big respect for that setup.

How do you know it isn't a DD-5 or 6? Is there any way of telling from that picture?

DD-5 and 6 have two outputs on the left side, DD-3 only has one.

Because theres only one output jack and two input jacks. The DD-5 and DD-6 have one extra output jack.

Edit: FFS Reece

I wonder how he wrangles the blue box in a live setting. I'll definitely be watching his stomping next week.

My blue box has the worst bypass I have ever experienced on any pedal.

The affected signal bleeds through and it slices off all the highs. It's a shame because the fuzz is really nice.

There's a fix for that.

It's called... robot devil.

If you run it after a buffer, then it's fine. But yes, truly a terrible bypass.

He stopped using it when he got the boss bass overdrive. It's been his favored dirt pedal for years now.

How long? It might explain why I hated the tone on the most recent two records.

I think at least since The Maggot.

Have you heard "the bride screamed..." yet? tone wise it's a return to the stoner witch sound to my ears. I liek it alot, way less big buisnessy than the last two. Not that I minded that either really.

That makes me miss my blue box... Never noticed that problem you guys are alking about, but i had to much pedals on my board when i had it. The biggest problem i had with the blue box was the volume drop.

I fucking hope so. I've really disliked the last two records, I didn't know they switched around the time of the Maggot but that sounds about right, the tone just wasn't as raw as it was before.

Makes me sad, when I met them at the instore when I was 14 I asked Buzz what pedal he used, he said Rat, so I bought the next one I found, and I've used it ever since.

I should say "feel" wise the album fits into the stoner witch era; song structures, the who cover, etc . Tone wise it sounds like early ipecac stuff. It's much more melvins and much less big biz. It feels like it could have been played by the original trio, but the sound is definitely more in line with pigs of the roman empire meet the trilogy.

I honestly like buzz's more ominous dark tone from the last decade more than the punkier early stuff, even though I much prefer those earlier albums. It's the inspiration for me buying a boss ODB-3 which I couldn't be happier with.
