I rarely see stories that come with a guitar. I am always a little curious, especially if the original owner was a soldier or something, because many of my guitars came out during the Vietnam war. Maybe that sounds morbid, but I wonder why people might have sold them. Chances are better that people lost interest, needed cash, or bought replacements.

This AUCTION shows what the player (Lucian) looked like when he got the guitar, and how he looked 30-40 years later. The recent picture of him looks like Vampire Lestat, because of his white hair and tight features. But it's cool that his wife included those pictures. This could be one of us in many years, were it not a Strat. But hell, he bought it back before it blew up into a legend. I hope she set a good reserve.

Billy Zoom always says that the guitars that are still mint after decades are the ones that aren't that great because clearly no-one wanted to play 'em. So by that logic then yes, it looks like a hell of a guitar.

I wonder what the black switch was for?

The guy died. I'd find it strange owning something that meant so much to someone. Then I do have an irrational attachment to inanimate objects.
