They're pretty sweet pedals, a few of us on Shortscale have owned them. It's a delay with a modulation section, so you can get choruses, flanges and some kooky pitch-bending delay action, plus some pretty warm digital delays. They've got some internal trimpots, so you can easily make it self-oscillate if it doesn't already.

I had to replace the footswitch on mine with a DPDT stomper after a year or two so that may be something to bear in mind, although I'm guessing it was already 10-15 years old. I actually found it a few days ago and it still works! Just needs some looking at to get the bypass working again.

I just fancied a quick fool-about on mine, so here's a few samples! Excuse total lack of playing, it was just twirlin' dials:

Just a CIJ Jazzmaster straight into the MDX, running into an amp sim on a Boss BR-8 portastudio.

Were Vestax the company who did the Vesta Fire pedals?

That name leaves a sour taste because when I was sixteen I found this Vesta Fire delay pedal in a junk shop for, like, £10, mentioned to a friend that I was going to buy it at after work and he beat me to it. The same place that had a “broken Twin Reverb and 2x12 cab for £100 when I didn’t have £100.

I miss small-town junk shop ignorance.
