haha - you can't touch a decent new Fender amp for under a grand, it's crazy. Fender's pricing is messed.

I'd rather stick with a DRRI. I was looking at pricing today at work and the markup is crazy. Cost is somewhere around $600 and sells for a grand. Also a 22 watt amp by the way.

If that 2x12 cab comes with some decent speakers and is closed back it might be something i look into. I've tried a few super sonics but never got along with them. Nothing amazing from the ones i've played. You can have a 22 watt bugera which blew me away for a few hundred bucks

Yeah. Everything that isn't Custom Shop is PCB. No big deal - PCBs are usually just as good as p-2-p. The thing to look for is whether the tube sockets are mounted to a PCB or the chassis; you want the latter. Most of the RI Fender amps are good. They're just more expensive than they should be for what they are.

65 Amps and others are twice the price, but you get much more than twice the quality and versatility.

I currently have an Orange Ad30 head and its PCB and sounds lovely, so that doesnt worry me too much. the supersonic combo looks the trick...

I love Orange madly. If I ever get this upright bass unloaded I may be scooping up a used Rocker 30. Every time I plug into one it's like "oh, THAT'S what a guitar is supposed to sound like!"

Yeah I do like it... I dont know why but I keep being drawn to Fender amps... that said I was never happy live sound wise with my old Bandmaster... shrug, I guess GAS is what keeps us young huh... and the musical instrument companies in business.

I never had luck with Fenders live - too brittle and trebly. The Orange I think would sit much better because it has more midrange.

I like the new design of these.

As far as the price goes, even for a 22 watt amp if they are using decent transformers and parts on the inside of the amp then the cost is pretty expensive to build one. The Bugera probably uses really cheap transformers and internals, although it does sound amazing considering that. I would hope that the Fender is using better parts to justify the price they're asking for these.

The cabinet is probably the biggest difference - proper plywood verses MDF. That and some of the little things, like pots and sockets.

It's worth a bit extra to have a quality cabinet IMO, from a durability/sound perspective.

i played a supersonic a month or so a go and the vibrolux and bassman modes were fucking amazing. DO IT.

yeah i hear you with regards the orange but odly enough my problem with the bandmaster was it was quite muffled... not trebly at all. could need a retube i guess...

How's the sound compared to say Blues Junior (I know it's subjective but....)?
