Some guy offered to trade my old Fender Rumble 100 to his "bought it last year" Squier Satin Trans? He claims it has seen some TLC, in form of fretworks etc.
So To Do or Not To Do? Opinions?
Would be nice to get a new guitar in to the house, especially since I didn't get that Epi Les Paul I was jonesing.
It (should) look something like this;

depends on which one you'll use more. if you don't already have a strat, or don't have a bass, i'd say do it.

Nah, I just bought a new amp for my bass, and I don't have a strat. Could be a win-win situation. Or not.

sounds like it might be dude. have you ever played a strat? that looks like one of those 70's strat necks, which you will either love or hate. i am personally not a fan of the maple ones, but the rosewoods are nice.

Yup, several strat-copies. Curiously never a "proper" (haha) American Fender Stratocaster. I think someone mentioned that the necks on these were similar to was it late 90's MIM strats, whatever that means.
At least the neck CANNOT be thinner than the one on the Classic Vibe 60's Telecaster.

i would say it's pretty close to the tele actually.
the squier necks i've played are damn close to the MIA strat neck that is currently on the aenmaster.

Actually, the guy that was interested on it first (couple of messages back and forth) has just replied on it. At the meanwhile, when I didn't hear from him I thought he was one of those "Nice thing, I'll send couple of messages, and then drop from the face of the earth"-guy, since for a couple of days I didn't hear anything from him. He offered cash. BUT in the meanwhile the next guy (who offered the above mentioned guitar)
and I are meeting next Saturday to test each others crap out and possibly do a switch. Plus I'm semi-psyched about the guitar, even if it is just a strat.
What to do, since I'm new to this "buy my stuffz"-crap and I really do not know the etiquette?

Unless something's been arranged, it's first come, first served.
If you like the guitar, go for it. Your new bass rig is pretty killer, so this is just extra stuff.

Just what I thought. Even if you don't like it, you'd probably make more from selling on the Strat than the Rumble. Definitely seems like a win-win, particularly since you have that new bass set-up.

Yup, that's what I thought. First I'll get the guitar, then deal with any possible situations.
Later on I got a classic "I'm looking for a bass amp for my son, let's meet up (you+2 of us) and check it out". Should have gone with that one, if only for the possible lulz.
"Look look. I sell you this guitar amp" "I thought you said it was a bass amp?!" "Whatever" etc etc.
"What kind of music do you play, little boy/girl" "I like Paramore"
"GET THE FUCK OUT, THE BOTH OF YOU!!" "but do take the amp and leave the money"

is it the Rumble with the lightshow at the bottom? I used to know a guy that had one and I though the low end response was pretty flabby.
Kind of a poor showing for a bass amp.
If so, then yeah. I'm not big on a strat and even less so on natural finishes but I'd take one over an amp that sucks at what it's meant to do and yet, provides a feature that's entirely superfluous.

Yup, that's the one. The best switch on the whole contraption can be found on the back. It turns the light off. I remember the ads saying stuff like "Get that cool gig-atmosphere even when only practicing"
cool atmosphere my ass.
Neither am I a big strat-man, NOR a natural finish-lover, but since I can force myself to mod my Tele, I need something that I can. And strats are really easy to sell if need be. Just go outside some lawfirms and play some Layla or Tears in Heaven, and the rich lawyers will fight each other for the guitar.
And who knows, it could be really good.

the strat looks like it's made out of laminate flooring. or one of those chopping boards ikea sells. strangely alluring though.

Rumbles are crap. A strat is much better a tool to have however you cut it even if you already have one.

Yup, I'm basically ready to start the hunt for a steel block etc. which (probably) have to be changed. Something about the color is really alluring. I hope it'll be even more orangy in nature.
I think someone should make a guitar out of Ikea chopping boards. Just for the hell of it.
