Pickups for a Strat?

I've decided that I want to replace the stock singlecoils in my Squier Strat. I was thinking about a p90/humbucker combo because, well.. that would be sexy IMO. Maybe a P90 for the neck and a humbucker for the bridge. After looking around for different options (cheap ones) I was thinking about maybe going GFS route/ Seymour Duncan. Or maybe THREE minihumbuckers!
Any suggestions?

Dunno how well three mini humbuckers would work.
I've always fancied a strat with a Phatcat in the bridge, and two jag pickups in front of that.

You're speaking my language! One other option could be those p90+rail pup's that Seymour Duncan makes. Probably would go with the P90-in-humbucker size, since full-blown P90's look a bit wonky in a Strat, IMO.

GFS rails are pretty good, put one in the bridge for rawk tones. But you got to balance with other pickups, so get the "vintage output" version if you're leaving single coils in other positions.

I've had Dimarzio HS-3 hums in my strat forever - they are voiced nicely and keep a strat CHANG and I like the tone. Don't be put off by the fact Yngwir Malmsteen uses em

Is that the "hotter" version of the p90+rails or..? That's pretty much what I had in my mind. Solid suggestions, everyone!
ps.
One of my friends replaced the pup's in his Jag with humbuckers, so maybe he would be willing to make me a bro deal. I've sure made some for him.

hotrod's link reminded me that GFS sells these kits for brian may type switching. the wiring possibilities are really pretty insane. could be a lot of fun.

I was thinking about dropping mini humbuckers into my strat (the everything axe set). I was just curious to know if anyone knew, they fit right into the single coil hole in the pickguard correct? Like I wouldnt have to cut any part of the pickguard or route anything in the guitar to make them fit would I?

I assume you mean hums like the HS 3s I've got? They dropped right in - I assume most manufacturers comparitive hums would also. At worst you might need to sandpaper off a fraction of the hole.

Well I wanted to put this set in.
I am sure they would probably drop right in, I think its my eyes playing tricks on me because every time I see a picture of them they look a bit too wide for the single coil spacing.

I've decided to at least get that Brian May-pickguard+wiring-kit, simply for the variety. Pickups I have yet to decide on, could go for the matching GFS brighton rocks (the hawter set). The actual work on it will most definitely be done by someone else than me, because I would fuck it up. Two left feet and no thumbs, you know.

If you want something different, GFS makes strat-sized Lipstick pickups. Put those in the neck and middle with a Dream 90 or Dream 180 in the bridge.
