BLOOD CHOCOLATE MINT CHIP ICE CREAM MESS.
I'm quite partial on this one and agree with Stewart. Despite notable exceptions, when tort comes out like poo, Fender pastels are slick no-brainer packages with mint guards.
That Squier tort is quite a lot nicer than the AVRI.
There was a tort comparison on Offset a little while back and with it talk of tort where it's computer generated and you can see the pixels (they been shooped!). It still looks good and it takes very close examination to be able to tell. I'm not sure why companies put out the dodgy looking stuff when that is available.
They were aiming to find something as close to the vintage looking stuff as they could. Generally I think that a lot of that is out of nostalgia's sake, but in this case I agree with them. The stuff Fender used in the 60s is beautiful. The closest was one of the ones WD Music make. The thread isn't too difficult to find on Offset if anyone is interested.
I've always thought the Tort on my White Vista Jag looked as good as just about any I've seen. It is, unsurprisingly, very similar to that on this stunning blue one in the topic. I had at first wanted a blue Vista, but then got the chance to buy a white for about £150 shipped from Germany; so I had to take it. This was like 3/4 years ago mind you.
PLEASE!!!... Tell Me About the Fuckin' Golf Shoes!
I should also point out: I tweaked that photo in Photoshop to make the surf green look more like it does in the flesh, and this hasn't been kind to the tort.
