shit-ton of electric, acoustic, and alternate instrument models.
virtual tunings on a knob, plus custom tunings (press button, play notes you want 1 by 1, press button again, BAM - custom tuning)
12-string simulation WITH full alternate-tune selection
Workbench software lets you program in virtual guitars of your own design (PUP configuration, body type, scale, etc)
and it has an easily swapped L-I battery pack

That dude on the net who puts the variax in different guitars is not going out of business anytime soon because they continue to make these fuggalicious.

Ugh.

Does not impress me in the slightest. The Roland VG99 already does all that stuff and so much more. I guess it's a good thing for people who are in shitty radio friendly cover bands that need to switch between SRV and Metallica and Dave Matthews etc etc.

Two pickups is all I need. One that does jangle/chime, one that sounds warmer for blues and finger picking, and a setting in between for a little bonus but usually never use. If I'm playing a 12 string, acoustic, sitar, whatever else that thing does, I want people to see me playing one. If I'm recording, I have enough options between the guitars I own and borrowing etc.

Not a fan of all the digital line 6 stuff, but saying that I did have a go on an older variax, and was rather impressed.

PODs just sound like crap to me though

I liked the older variax models. I wish they'd done one of those with these features. Way better looking!

These ones have PICKUPS.

EW.

The middle one isn't too offensive(though I don't understand the one mis matched pickup). The other two are heinous.

On that first one: I like Telecasters but they and anything with an upper horn resembling theirs remind me of people with enormous foreheads.
