Every S-type owner's nightmare. I bought a Burns cobra not long ago and the tremolo arm has been doing my head in as it wouldn’t stay in place. It was swinging all over the camp I bought one of those small springs that fender sell and it’s the business trem arm stays exactly where I want it every time...best .99 I've spent for a while

One of the small erasers you get in the top of pencils will probably work too.

Or some electrical tape on the threads. That worked for me.

The teflon tape that plumbers and pipefitters use on pipe threads works well.
It can be found at any hardware or Home Depot or Lowe's, etc.

I normally pop a bit of foam at the bottom to do the job of the spring or eraser. It works well and lasts ages.
