Cyclone project - Choosing a pickguard

i'm not sure i can live with the white pearl pickguard.. i'm trying to find pics of black with red/brown tortoiseshell and parchment/mint green..

i suppose the pickup covers play a bit part in the aesthetics aswell. considering chrome covered pickups.. maybe 2 single coils or keep the HS setup.

what would you do?

A nice maroon tort would be the only sane option. Or maybe BWB.

I've seen a vintage Black mustang with vintage red tort that looked amazing...but chnaces of getting red tort for a cyclone that will look anything like vintage is pretty much zero. Best bet i nuderstand is the repro red from either Stewmac or WD (there's a long thread on it over at Offset).

Failing that a WBW would look tuxedo tits.

I also admit I HATE pure white pearl but LOVE aged cream pearl. Have you considered having a go at creaming up the existing one as an experiment?
