Danelectro DC 59?

Any opinions on these? I've briefly played one in a shop about a year ago and thought it sounded and played pretty well. They do look the shit too, of course!
I've got the chance to get one for £70 so I'm probably just gonna go for it. I'm a lefty, but it's pretty much the ideal guitar to turn upside down.
I've watched the demo Hurb put up on youtube which was useful, seeing as how I'll be using a TT too.

Go for it. That's a decent price.

I'm getting it for £65 with a gig bag now. Picking it up on Friday! Can't wait! It's black, for what it matters.
It looks like a 2007 reissue, which doesn't have the wooden bridge, but I'm happy with that. Means it'll be easier to intonate lefty. There was an ancient topic on here that discussed the differences between the reissue phases from the last decade, and dissed these particular models, but I'm sure it'll be great. Especially at this price.
YIS!

Getting a new guitar is an incredible feeling!

I used to have that exact same model (except in right-handed) and loved it. Great guitar.

Good call on going for it -- especially at that price. Last year,
I picked up one of the earlier '90s reissues for $75 and it's one of my favorites to play. It's nice and light, sounds great unplugged, and has a
rippin' bite when paired with a small amp that's loud enough to give some power-tube breakup.

did you get the guitar? I had the original and bought a reissue in 1999, both rocked
I still have my oldschool u-2. I love those guitars!

I got last years reissue with the wooden bridge and all that jazz, and love it. Err maybe that was actually this year and I'm just temporally-challenged.

Unfortunately, no. He got an offer from someone nearer him and just sold it to him instead, which sucks ass. I was gonna be picking it up anyway, and had arranged a date to go collect, so I don't see why it should matter to him.
Feel pretty devastated, knowing I'll never get that good a deal on one again.

Danelectro makes pretty cool cheap guitars. They are on the treble heavy side, which I easily noticed when comparing my friend's Danelectro Dean on 67 with my Squier Strat.

It really does. I'm not having the best of luck with buying gear at the mo. Leaves my bank account in a good shape though I suppose.

i know im a bit late to this discussion, but i have a 1990's re-issue of a DC-59 "m" 12-string im looking to sell. plays great. just a few scratches, otherwise its in very good condition. and yes, it is heavenly to play. easily the most comforable and best sounding mid-price range 12 string available. i just dont use it as much as i thought i would and id rather sell to someone who will play it and not just have it sit on a stand like it is now. are you still interested?

you just answered your own question, and i would only elaborate further by saying:
you're new to the forum, and you came into an ages old thread trying to sell a guitar. we don't sell guitars in threads, we have a classifieds forum for that.
there's more info here:
