why would anyone pay that much for a broken guitar? I mean, it's all fucked up and backwards.

It's probably only worth a third of that. But, as it says, there are only 3. All it takes is one buyer.

Either he messed up on the add , was forced to post it up cuz his wife forced him to sell it and he put it at a crazy price so it wouldn't sell so he can turn around and say " Honey , I tried to sell it and no one wanted it " or lastly ........ He's on dope.

My guess is by listing it at a crazy price he knows it will get interest on forums. People will be talking about how it is fantastic and incredibly rare, but of course also about the price being much too high. With the amount of commotion it could cause over at Gibson and jazz orientated forums there's a chance a rich collector will put in a $300k offer that will get accepted.

If he had just listed it as $300k, I doubt it would have been posted about here, even though that is still crazy money for a guitar.

My idea is he either had to sell his house or the guitar.

Unless some famous musician died on it.....a guitar should never be worth that much money
