Guitar Picks... Share Your Favorite

I'm interested if anyone has a favorite guitar pick and material for their picks that they highly favor over other choices. If so I've love to see a link or a picture and to know why you like it so much.

In my experience this little tool (and whether you even use one or not) is one of the biggest factors in guitar tone other than the guitar and amp. So I am curious on what other people are using and why they like their particular choice.

I know for some people they just use whatever, even a coin will do (and in the case of Brian May this is his pick of choice), and these are not the people I am interested in hearing from. I'm interested in hearing from the people who have found something that they really like and would not want to play with anything else.

I ask because I am exploring cheap ways that I can alter my tone more to my liking. Nothing really wrong with it at the moment, but I feel that the right pick could really do something special. Since there are so many choices and materials out there these days I'd love to hear from others their experiences.

Anyway thanks for sharing. 8)

I tend to keep things rather pedestrian with the red/.5 Dunlop Tortex (Tortexi?) picks for electric and Martin #1 .73 for my acoustic.

Occasionally I'll switch up and use a random weird pick out of my pick tin, as I keep all sorts of odd picks I find at guitar shops. My favorites being a stainless steel pick, Dunlop Stubbies (similar to V-picks but less $) and Jazz IIIs.

It's been a while since I played a tortex pick, I will need to pick a few up and give them another go.

Been playing the medium-ish sized ones I got with my order from JustStrings.com for the past year and a half :P

Classically I've used a 1mm tortex or 2mm Big Stubby.

I've got a set of those in my pick bin unopened. Perhaps I will give em a whirl.

Anyone try these?

Sounds intriguing. I have a standard Ultex which I like a lot, but I'd like to try the sharp tip. Could take it over the top.

I recently got a pack of these red Big Stubbys

love'em. perfect size and shape. it has improved my picking accuracy and tremolo picking is much easier with them. I like the 1mm reds but I may try some different sizes as well.

I'm all about these, the metal on metal scraping sound is right up my street.

when i play bass i use my fingers, rarely slap, nor pick, just use my index and middle finger to pluck.
but with guitar i will either use my fingernail or at least a 1.00 mm pick, the heavier the better,
but non of that metal bullshit,i have one and used it once, shit sucks.
