Anyone know of any good octave fuzz pedals that are available on which the octave effect is foot switchable? I have a Danelectro French Toast which I like but I don't like the lack of LED and would prefer if I could switch the octave on with my foot for ultimate versatility.

Well, the French Toast is a copy of the Foxx Tone Machine, a pedal that has a lot of DIY counterparts. MonkeyFX make one called the The VervetVervet, but it's £140:
Various people have rehoused French Toasts with LEDs and true bypass, just depends if you see it as a worthwhile investment of moneez.
I have a feeling Mike may have made a Tone Machine before, might be worth an ask.

Thanks for that chaps. A real Tone Machine is a bit out of my price range at the moment but a Mike version is a possibility once i've raised some funds. I'll have a look at the youtube vid over the weekend as security restrictions at work don't allow me to view.

There are a couple I think are really good. The Ronsound stone machine is the best foxx tone machine clone I heard. Also Retro-man makes a good one called the wolf tone machine. Elite Tone makes the fillmore thunder which is more like an octavia. Also Hartman makes the 8va which is like an octavia (really well built, great sounding and fairly cheap last time I checked online sellers). All of those pedals have a separate octave function so you can just play fuzz as well. And if you dont want an octave fuzz but just want a really great sounding octave, look into the Foxrox octron.

HBE UFO Fuzz, as demoed by Hurb of this parish. Does that great thing where you turn down the fuzz but keep the octave on - sounds ace, especially into a muff. He was selling it a while back, maybe give him a shout and see if it still is. Ronsound also make one too which is meant to be very very good.

How about getting a separate octave pedal?

I know this one: it's because octave pedals are a bit cack, but octave fuzzes are great.

I already have an EHX Micro Pog which i'm selling as I don't really use it. Using an octave pedal with a fuzz sounds nowhere near as good as an actual octave fuzz.

hm...reason i sold my ultimate octave fuzz is because i preferred the sound of a behringer pitch shifter combine with a great destroyer fuzz, much more wild sounding, but now of course i don't have a 'classy' sounding octave fuzz anymore haha

fulltone ultimate octave for 70 pounds ? fucking dew it, they're like 250eur new, i got one for 178/180eur don't remember. i still have the box and sticker but sold the pedal lol. sold it to a dude who plays in a 'tv show band'. i'm sure i've heard him use it when watching the show (it's like a late night talkshow with random guest sorta like the flemish jimmy kimmel or something)
it's a bit qotsa in a box, the oct up works quite well with powerchords or other simple chords too. i made some videos with some use of this pedal in them

i liked it a lot, but sounded very 'nice' couldn't get really wild, nice fuzz sound too, i kind of regret selling it and never tried it with a booster to check if that would give the fuzz a bit more balls.
oh and it's a really shit 'demo', it's actually just a video of me stomping pedals with no real idea of wtf i want to prove.

it was when i saw HEALTH and wanted to be them lol
