I have nothing against a Floyd Rose, but to gut a vintage Mustang like this is just wrong.
I can't bear the horror

buy it for the neck
although that's still too much.

I'll bet it plays like butta
Not against this one. I don't like that a Vintage guitar will never be the same, but that doesn't mean that this isn't a freaking awesome mustang.

Buy it, put a two-post strat bridge in place of the floyd, and pop one of them floyd rose nut replacers on the neck.
On and cover up the trem routs on top 'cause jesus christ...

It also needs black pickup covers.

I get the impression they're not going for vintage correct.
The white covers suit the 80s look the bridge gives it.

I think it looks amazing. I want it.
Surely the Mustang body isn't thick enough for a Floyd Rose, though? Will the block not be sitting proud of the back of the guitar?

i think it looks really nice, and i don't really like the look of floyd's.
that rear route is really clean.

looks like piss with spring holes from original trem, but i bet this sounds and probably plays better than original mustang trem.

I generally dislike Floyds too... but yeah, this kinda works.
Really, I think it works BECAUSE of the exposed Mustang routes; somehow the holes make an illusion of some sort of wing or something that works with the look.

Whats the main complaint about Mustangs? Floyds are a pain to set up but once done so correctly they're amazing.

my main complaint about mustangs is the fact they are not jaguars.

It'd look cool on a Cyclone or a Jagmaster
Not this though

No, because this Floyd is top-mounted rather than recessed.

It also looks pretty high on the top of the body judging from the height of the
pickups/neck relative to the body top.

Dude , why didn't this guy just buy a Cyclone and fit a single coil in the bridge ?

I assume this was done decades ago when superstrats ruled the roost... You could say it was literally the then-equivalent of hacking up a Squier or import Fender rather than butchering an American Stratocaster. The Strats themselves got pretty cheap but were still something of an icon, so this seemed even lower-risk.
