Look look, I found one of these, a Ibanez GAXB150b bass, medium scale, cheaper than air (CIC/MIC)!
Opinions? I suppose its of the same series as the GAX-guitars which should be good?
I'd mod the shit out of it. Not that it necessarily would need it, but..

My friend has a cheap ibanez bass and it's pretty good. i say go for it

I has a cheap Ibanez sound gear GSR 200 bass and while I’m no authority on our 4 string friends it sounds good and does the job.

I tried one of those Hofner basses in a shop. They look cool, but there's neck dive and the necks are fat as anything.

I played one at my local guitar shop today. Was quite impressed. They were asking £299 for it.
If it were 250 I woulda bought it right there.
