Lefty Neck refinish

I bought this neck off Ends and I think I am going to sand it completely down, and refinish with tinted Amber gloss from Reranch. Kinda how Haze refinished the Allparts neck for his Jazzmaster. The neck has no nut so it could be configured for a lefty or righty. The current finish has kinda dirty look to it. I am hoping to reduce the dirty look and have a nice project neck I can use or sell.

I do have one question. Since the guitar has the maple fretboard, I will need to sand the fingerboard as well.

When I respray the neck, should I cover the frets or can I spray the entire finger board and then polish the clear coat off the frets?

Haze, should one can of amber clear coat be enough?

Spray the whole neck, scrape off the frets afterwards. One can of tint clear will be plenty. I'd recommend using the tint nitro until you get your desired amber colour then finish the rest with plain clear nitro so you still get the right gloss to it. I probably should have done more laquer on mine but i didn't want the tint any darker. I like my necks glosssssy though, ymmv

Excellent. Once I spray the fingerboard, I could use this to cover the finger board and sand the clear off the frets.
