$30 at a yard sale in Maryland. Needs a new fuse. Came with the ORIGINAL AMP COVER and footswitch!!! The guy also says he has the original manual somewhere and will call me/ship it if he comes across it.
Solid State, 4x12....reverb/tremolo...unknown volume but he said it was plenty loud enough to keep up with a drummer.
I can't wait to get this thing home!!!

After running around looking for a fuse (2A 125v seems to be hard to find, at least locally) I went back and asked what he was thinking price wise....he said "well, it was my uncles, I'm not too attached to it"....I said "$40?" When he started to make a counter offer I tensed up a little until he said "How about 30 since you can't find the fuse" I only had twenties so he could've lied about having change and I'd have still paid him $40.
That's just google image...I'm at Lauren's sister's house in Maryland right now so it's out in the car where it'll probably be til monday when I get home since I don't think they really want me bringing a huge dusty old amp into their house. ...I think mine's in better shape than that once I clean it up, the knobs aren't missing any chrome stickers or anything..
I'm just gonna bring it into Parkway when I get back and have them "fix it".....I'm sure their amp tech either has the right fuse or can mod it to accept a different fuse....that thought crossed my mind as well about it being the wrong fuse to begin with, but I'm not gonna mess around with it until the tech says otherwise. I am so eager to hear its sound. Apparently Magnatones are the only amps with true vibrato and not tremolo, though they apparently sound very similar. I will try to do an video demo once I get it working.
It's still in the car but I think it's a 4x10 actually...it's still probably the largest amp I own but the picture isn't that far off
Edit: The unofficial Magnatone fanpage I grabbed that image from says it's 4x12...it doesn't really look it even in person. I'll measure when I get it home later.
Update: Got an estimate from the tech. He said there was some stuff going on inside beyond the fuse....said it'd be between $60 and $100 to fix it all. I gave him the go ahead, since in my experience the fix usually ends up being on the low end of the spectrum.
I still think this amp for around $100 total is a pretty good deal....I should be getting it back any day now
Apparently after he gave me an estimate quote, the ancient amp tech at parkway said he couldn't fix it without a schematic, so I've basically been storing it there until they can figure out what to do with it, or until I give in and have it converted to a cab. They just relocated to a much larger store a couple weeks ago and hired another tech who thinks he can fix the Magnatone....I just went there today and was told it's on the workbench torn apart right now and he's in again tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be hearing back one way or the other this week. AM EXCITE!
